Documentation
These 4 documents apply to ALL shipments
Inventory
The inventory is one of the most important documents you will sign. It lists and describes the condition of all cartons and individual items. A crew member will place an inventory number on all packed boxes, furniture pieces, and loose items. When the crew member starts to fill out the inventory it is highly recommended that you pay attention to his/her assessment of the condition documented on the inventory. Also ensure the numbers on all of your property correspond to the numbers on the inventory. You will sign this at both origin and destination. Pay particular attention to the "High-Risk/High-Value page"...at delivery, it requires not only your signature, but also your initials next to each item.
Govt Bill of Lading (GBL)The GBL is the primary governing document, describing the property, to whom it belongs, who is responsible for moving, who is shipping it and who can receive it, and other identifying information.

Loss/Damage NotificationThis form is to be completed and signed by you during delivery to notify us of any missing or damaged items. The delivery agent should present it to you, and should also return it to us on your behalf, however you should request a copy and see to it personally that it is returned to us.

These additional 2 may apply to International shipments |
DD1252All customers transferring back to the USA from a foreign country will have this form. This is the main form used by US Customs & Border Patrol to clear your property for entry back into the USA. Without it, your property would have to clear on a "formal entry" which is costly and crates delays.
|
DD1434Customers transferring to the UK will need to complete this customs form. If the form is not completed correctly, if a prior version of the form is used, or if there is anything on the form that piques the curiosity of a UK Customs Officer, your property will be held at the port of entry until you are reached by officials to provide required corrections or statements.
