Rights & Responsibilities

What we should do

  • Maintain a professional appearance and behavior, and always be respectful of your belongings and your family who may be present while we are working in your home
  • Crate all property at residence, unless a specific operational need arises to do otherwise, in which case this should be communicated with you ahead of time and approval granted by either you or the government shipping office.
  • Provide you a copy of your inventory at origin.
  • Answer your in-transit concerns promptly.
  • Unpack and remove the debris.

What you should do

  • Read our e-mails. We want to stay connected with you.
  • Be available from 0800 to 1700 on all packing, loading, and delivery dates.
  • Keep your home tidy before packing begins.
  • Specifically point out to the packers any High Value items which should be included on the High-Value inventory.
  • Specifically point out to the packers all professional gear, which must be separately weighed so it doesn't count against your allotment.
  • Make sure the packers properly label all cartons so you know where they are supposed to go at destination. This will make your delivery and unpacking MUCH more pleasant!

What we shouldn't do

  • Demand or even insinuate the expectation of a tip.
  • Make you feel like a criminal for asking us to unpack for you. You are entitled to it. Our Destination Agent should offer unpacking, and if they do not, you should feel welcome in asking.

What you shouldn't do

  • Make appointments of any kind on any of your packing, loading, or delivery dates.
  • Insist shipping of any item that is very soiled, or at all wet, moldy, leaky, or mildewy. The result of doing so, especially on an international shipment, will be damage beyond repair to those items, plus damage by contamination to other items being shipped. Your claim rights will be diminished or eliminated completely.
